エルトン・ジョンが8年ぶり8回目の来日公演を行った。
今回は「プレミアム・コンサート」として、大阪、東京でそれぞれ1回ずつ公演が行われた。
前回2007年11月の来日公演はピアノ1台で行われたソロ・コンサートであったが、今回は「エルトン・ジョン＆ヒズ・バンド」によるライヴであり、バンド編成の日本公演としては2001年以来14年ぶりとなった。
「All the Hits ツアー」と題された今回のツアーは、そのタイトルどおりベスト・オブ・エルトン・ジョンそのものといえる曲目であり、期待を裏切らない内容であった。
「The One」ではバンドがいったんステージから去りエルトン一人で演奏されたが、そこで聴かせた声には横浜アリーナを感動で満たす迫力があった。
